Feet as main character, as a representative part of the whole, as an expression and creation media. Feet as anchors to reality; as happiness and pride objects for some, and sadness, pleasure or pain for others. This series title comes from the famous Frida Kahlo´s words: ”Feet... what for if I have feet to fly...”, she wrote these words after lose one of her legs. ”Alegoría” is a little tribute to her.
The city, artificial space created by men to live in, humankind residence. The cities are a majority’s landscape. The city as nature’s crises. Urban scars arise as our imposition to the planet to adapt to our way of living, and the way it defends or reacts to the constant aggression.
Italo Calvino describes the city in the foreword of his book Invisible Cities, like a group of many things: memoirs, wishes, language signs, a place to interchange words, wihes, memories. This makes me think that the nature’s crisis goes farther and gets us, we internalize the exterior’s chaos and we become part of the scars, our imposition turns against us.
